Ladies and Gentlemen,
You can recognize easily that I write much more than I read - still there are also people who read a lot... Therefore it is an interesting question what reading is like in 21st Century... First of all, you need a 21st Century dictionary...
Now: the basic concept is that the display of a computer is too "dynamic" to read books on it comfortably and to immerse yourself in these books... However books and newspapers and magazines printed on paper cost forests and space in your house (this is true even if your library is your treasury)... I had the idea that you could download books from the internet on your computer and then print the books at home... You could read the books in a folder as long as you are interested - then you can recycle the paper...
The inventors of Kindle had a better idea... You can download books, newspapers and magazines via Wi-Fi directly on a reading device (e-reading), you can hold this device comfortably in your hand like a book and you can store approx. 3,000 books on a Kindle - this is already a large library (of a life-time)...
Congratulations, Kindle! (Even if I could assemble my bookshelves in a creative way...)
Best wishes, Joseph de la Mikula and Team
